Lesson Overview
Modern Dance 1
Modern Dance 2
Modern Dance 3
Modern Dance 4 (+ partner)
In this course, you will learn tools to create choreographies for groups of students. The focus is on testing and improving motor abilities, particularly coordination, by transforming a basic dance for one dancer into choreography for multiple dancers. You will explore methods such as variations of movement, rhythmic changes, spatial references, symmetric execution, sequential motor sequences, and partner adjustments. The components of group choreography include variations in sequences, time (unison, canon, dialogues, counterpoint), space distribution (geometric patterns, symmetries, asymmetries), and ensemble types. Experience four different choreographies, starting from a basic sequence and developing it for group performance.
Chorographic variations: Symmetric execution and space distribution
Different fronts
Ensemble on synchrony, unison
Execution on symmetry
Different parts on synchrony (main part and background)
Chorographic variations: Time and rhythm
Different fronts
Canon with two groups
Ensemble on synchrony (sync), unison
Different levels
Same combination, different speeds
canon with four groups (same part, different tempo)
Chorographic variations: the performance of the spatial changes
Different levels
Different parts on synchrony (main part and background)
Counterpoint with some contrast
Dance with a partner Chorographic variations: the performance in collaboration
Relationship of cooperation, complementary with the partner
Guidance and Lifts
creative composition to be joined with complementarity for partnership
