Dancing for People with Intellectual Disabilities - The Example of Special Olympics
A lecture on the development of DanceSport within Special Olympics International from 2013 to the present day. It offers a retrospective on both national and global pioneering work, providing insight into the history of how DanceSport came to be officially recognized. The presentation will include a snapshot of the current state of inclusive DanceSport, as well as a forward-looking perspective on what this sport can contribute to inclusion worldwide and why DanceSport is likely to become the largest sport within Special Olympics.
