Introduction to the sport ORIENTEERING: an outdoor sport where participants use a map and compass to navigate through unfamiliar terrain, finding checkpoints in the correct order as quickly as possible. It combines physical endurance with problem-solving and decision-making in nature.
Following with some playful activities for school to introduce map reading, symbols, and navigation skills in a fun way.
A short orienteering course set around the school building, where participants practice finding checkpoints in a familiar environment.
Trail-O: An adapted form of orienteering that focuses on precise map reading and decision-making, allowing everyone — including participants with disabilities — to take part equally.
A real orienteering race with time measurement on the nearby hill Tartscher Bichl, putting skills into practice in nature.
There will be shuttle busses taking you back and forth during the 2 hours of the lesson.
